Online/Hybrid Program
Our Online/Hybrid Program utilizes NATCEP’s (Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program) 60-hour online program. This program is administered, maintained, and regulated by the state of Texas and is free.
Our Online/Hybrid Program is broken into three phases.
1) 60 Hours Online - All 60 Hours are self-paced and done online at your own convenience. Once you’ve completed your application with us, we’ll send you a “How To” instructional on registering with NATCEP. Once complete, you’ll receive a certificate of completion. You’ll need to send this to us for your file.
2) 18 Hours In-Service - These 18 Hours are in-person at our school. This is to ensure you’ve learned the material taught in the online course. To pass this phase, you’ll be given a 50-question multiple-choice test (70 or higher to pass). In addition, you’ll need to perform the necessary skills at an adequate level. Again, this In-Service isn’t to teach you, but to evaluate that you’re doing these skills correctly. All In-Services are three weekdays long from 5-11 PM.
3) 40 Hours Clinical - Once it’s been determined that you’ve learned your CNA Skills at an adequate level, you’ll then complete 40 Clinical Hours. We typically offer two Clinical sessions—one is a Weekday Session that’s 7 Days from 5-11 PM, while the second is a Weekend Session that is 4 Days from 8 AM - 6 PM.
Once all three phases are complete, you’ll then receive your diploma from us and can register with the state to schedule your tests to become state-certified.
To register for our Online/Hybrid Program, we’ll need the following documents:
1) Driver’s License/Photo ID - We’ll need some form of photo identification. This is typically a Driver’s License, but it can also be a state-issued ID.
2) Social Security Card - We’ll need your Social Security Card—not just your SSN. This can be a Work Authorization or a visa as well.
3) Transcript/Diploma - The transcript/diploma can be one of the following: A high school diploma, a high school transcript, a college diploma, a college transcript, or a GED certificate. We do not need all four forms. One will suffice. Transcripts do not need to be official. If you do not have a diploma, you’ll need to show that you have at least an eighth-grade education.
4) Current TB Test - The TB Test will need to be within the calendar year of when you’re taking our class. A Skin or Blood Test kind will work, but a Skin Type is easier and cheaper. If your TB Test tests with a false positive because you’ve been previously exposed, you’ll also need a chest X-ray. We will also accept a Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) Vaccine.
5) Immunization Records - The three primary vaccines you’ll need to have are for Tetanus (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis), Varicella (chickenpox), and MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella).
6) NATCEP Certificate - This Certificate is given to you at the end of your 60 Online Hours.
All six documents must be turned in before you can move on to the Clinical Hours Phase of the program. All six must be physical copies for your file. You can send all of them by email or brought to school. If sent by email, please be sure to send hi-res versions since they must be printed.
While scans, screenshots, and PDFs are better, photos of your documents work as well, but you must have decent photo skills. Please place them on a flat surface without any other objects in the field of vision (this includes fingers, hands, and other documents). If they aren’t readable or difficult to crop or edit, you’ll have to re-send them.
Currently, our Online/Hybrid Program is $600.00. $100.00 is a non-refundable application fee that must be paid when registering, while the remaining $500.00 is the tuition. The tuition balance must be paid by the first day of class (The first day of the In-Person In-Service). We do not currently offer any kind of payment plans.
